My Role
3D environment Modeler.
Kirigami Town Hall is a video game created for the 2024 Balot Bitz Game Jam, hosted by Bitforest and Pipeworks studios.
I was the one who 3D modeled the buildings and environment assets, below are the people I worked with and their roles.
Derrick Melton- Programer and texture finder
Mike Jones- Audio designer
Eric- 2D artist
Ed- 2D artist
Outside of our specific roles, we also collaborated to determine art style and narrative direction; leaning into a weird core-esque "paper puppet" aesthetic with a Tim Burton/Don't Starve-inspired art style.
The core narrative is that none of the townsfolk want to vote for one reason or another due to their terrible mayor (a silkworm). The goal is to hear out their reasons for not voting and convince them to vote to get the bad mayor out of office.
Due to the short timeframe, there was less time to polish up the game, so the models are a bit lower into the ground than I would have liked. However, outside of that the game is fun to play and looks good.
